Spray
paint has become famous for encouraging street artists everywhere to
learn how to work with this aerosol-based modern wonder. Before the
spray variety, crafters and artists were mostly confined to hands, fingers
and brushes.
Spray paint single-handedly spawned the modern art form known as Graffiti
tags or street art. Crafters still use the stuff in abundance to cover
everything from cardboard to press board but street artists have it
figured out to a T. Whether using stencils or free-hand, the results
are astounding, as in the case of the mysterious, anonymous London street
artist Banksy.
Spray paint is paint mixed with an aerosol to help propel it out of
its can. Street artists have even created myriad tips to attach to the
can and create different textures and shapes using the spray.
