A plastic canvas is used for many craft creations. It is created with regular openings through which thread or yarn can be stitched. People may also recognize it under the name, “vinyl weave.”

A benefit to plastic canvas is how easy it is for children to use. This is because it is stiff enough that it doesn’t require a frame. Some styles have large enough holes that a tool isn’t even necessary. The material can also be used to create three-dimensional works.

Plastic canvas is available in many colors. The holes it includes may come in different sizes to accommodate different sizes of yarn. These different sizes are described the number of holes each linear inch includes, known as the “count.”
