Contact
paper is used for lining shelves and drawers. It can help breathe new
life into furniture that is scratched and marred. By lining kitchen
shelves and drawers with it, it can help protect the surfaces from the
items in the kitchen that can scratch and damage the wood.
Contact paper has a decorative surface on one side and a highly adhesive
material on the other. The adhesive material will stick to the surface
to be lined with minimal effort. Usually, there is a grid printed on
the sticky side so the paper can be cut to size properly without having
to worry about crooked lines.
Contact paper needs to be applied to surfaces that have been properly
prepared. The surface needs to be washed and dried thoroughly before
applying the contact paper. The paper itself needs to be put on the
surface slowly and carefully to avoid air bubbles and wrinkles in the
paper for the best and smoothest coverage.
