There
are a number of arts and craft supplies that children can use. Because
there are so many, it sometimes can be difficult to keep them organized.
A person who is attempting to organize all of these supplies might be
better off by following these guidelines:
• Get rid of the trash – If a lot of arts and crafts supplies
are all included together in one bag or box, there is a good chance
that some of these supplies could be torn or damaged. Go through the
box or bag and get rid of the items that are no longer useful. This
will help a person be able to better organize the things later on.
• Sort items – The next step in organizing arts and crafts
supplies for children is to organize each kind of supply into a specific
category. For example, water colors, paint brushes, bowls and paper
could all be organized into one main “watercolor” group.
• Get plastic bins – For every kit that a person organizes
with his or her children’s arts and crafts supplies, there should
be plastic bins. Although any kind of plastic bin can be used, clear
plastic bins tend to be more effective because they allow a person to
see inside of them.
• Make a miscellaneous box – There are some items that
are important arts and crafts supplies, but do not necessarily fall
into only one main category. For these items, it is important that they
are placed together in one bin. Some of the arts and crafts supplies
that might be included in this bin include rubber bands, yarn, crayons,
paper clips and glue.
